Synthesis Podcasts!
Some of you kids missed some awesome hc vinyl releases in the '90s, so I have started making podcast programmes with some of my favourites. You can download programmes individually, but I recommend subscribing. The first two episodes are collections of English Emo songs released on 7"s in the 1990s.

NB: The podcasts will be too quiet for some folks. I hope to get the sound level sorted soon!

Synthesis Podcast 1 - UK Emo 1
INTRO:Sample of Peter Cook from 'Derek & Clive (Live)' - mixed by DJ Rudee
Cap'n Jazz (Flashpoint-Catheter)
Broken Hearts Are Blue (Last Night's Tattoo)

PLAYLIST:Bob Tilton (Penknife and Pocketwatch, Butterfly, The Orchard Bare, Lilac)Tribute (Names in concrete, Rye-grass)

OUTRO:Cap'n Jazz (Little League)

Synthesis Podcast 2 - UK Emo 2
INTRO: Death Cab For Cutie (Lowell MA)

PLAYLIST:Schema (Double Sun Dark Hills, Penny Dreadful)
Month of Birthdays (Appraisal)
Polaris (Monkey Puzzle)
Malva (Deus Ex Machina)
Marker (Nobody Can Hear, Nothing)

OUTRO: The Spectacle (The Angels Choir)

1. Subscribe to Synthesis podcasts and your computer will download each new episode for you. Go to iTunes and in the podcast section, go to the 'advanced' section and click on "subscribe to a podcast" then paste this if you use iTunes: feed://www.ourmedia.org/mediarss/user/65446
Otherwise use this: http://www.ourmedia.org/mediarss/user/65446

-or-

2.Download the audio file (mp3) direct to your computer (and copy to your portable player if you want). You can download the mp3s here:
Synthesis Podcast 1 - UK Emo 1

Synthesis Podcast 2 - UK Emo 2

Future episodes will hopefully include entire Ebullition compilation LPs and lots of German screamo.

Feedback on the podcasts is welcome by email. I'm still figuring out lots of the techology involved. Thanks to Rudy for technical assistance.

Hey Laura, its Dan from Manchester Zinefest. Just thought you might want to append (is that the right word?) this post to say that for anyone who uses something other than iTunes for podcasts(I use amaroK for Linux), the link for yours is http://www.ourmedia.org/mediarss/user/65446 (slight difference)

I guess its pretty obvious really, but it took me a while to work out.

Thanks for coming, hope you had as good a time as I did. Have a good journey back :)

Great! Thanks for that. I've added that to the entry now.
